Rolling Hills Adventist Church News, April 23

*|MC:SUBJECT|*
Dear Church Family,

Did you notice it’s spring?  Today it’s warm and sunny and I’m glad I got most of my planting in.  I’m still waiting for some roses that I ordered a month ago, and they are promised to come in a week or so.

It’s a good reminder that when Jesus comes, He says, “I am making everything new!” (Revelation 21:5)

Let’s be ready for that!

Be Blessed!

Pastor Albert
"When you send your Spirit,
they are created,
and you renew the face of the ground."

Psalms 104:30
  • Due to the contagious COVID-19, church is closed until it is safe to open.
  • If you need groceries, other supplies, or other types of assistance, please don't hesitate to contact your church family in regards to how we can help you.
For Younger Members: Please encourage your child/children in the Junior/Earliteen and Youth Division to join us for Friday Evening Vespers, Sabbath morning Bible Study and Discussion, and Saturday night socials.  Pathfinders are also beginning this Sabbath!  See below, in the "Ongoing" section (#6), for information on how to join.

From Anita K.  Thank you, Pastor Albert and RH Church family! I miss you all very much and hope we can soon come together again and worship the Lord in His Sanctuary at RHC. I am praying for all of you and hope all are doing well.    Walter and I are doing o.k.

My daughter, Elke, did my grocery shopping last Sunday.  She is very helpful. Thanks be to God!
My son Reiner and his wife Janice visited us today. We all sat on chairs on the front lawn in the sunshine - approx. 6 ft. apart!  It was a very nice visit, just to see each other again.

Stay healthy and strong. Jesus is coming soon!!

Love, Anita

From Lisa and Tristan:  These two friends and neighbors like to walk their little dogs and enjoy the view from our lawn.  After chatting awhile, with the wind and cold coming up, they said their good-bye’s and wanted me to know that they really appreciate the church allowing folks to come by and visit.

Tristan added, “When the quarantine lifts, I think I’d like to come by sometime and join you for services.”  I said what I usually do, “Neighbors are always welcome!”

‘Survey Says’: (Wasn’t that a phrase from a family game show?) Every chance I get, whenever I talk with the church family, I am asking some questions (which are underlined below) and getting some interesting answers, as you will see…

Jeff B. Is a dog walker who visits our church grounds, with “Luna”, almost daily.  Bored?  I’m fortunate.  I can continue with my work, I’m blessed.  (Jeff runs a marina in San Pedro.)  People use their boats to get away from it all (other people, and the virus).  Faith? I read and pray. Advice? Keep a good, positive attitude. And listen to good music!

Jimi & Monica C.:  News: Monica has been cooking a lot more!  Jimi likes everything she cooks, especially if it’s spicy.  Coping? We’re doing very well.  We have masks and gloves.  Faith? We miss our church family and worshiping together with everyone.  It leaves a big hole. Advice? Hang in there, we’ll get past this with God’s help!

Prayer Meeting Group (8 of us!):  News Patti Pedersen will return soon and so will Aaron Zerna, but he has exams to study for.  A friend of the church, Eunice, and her family, are having struggles and Dahlma is helping them and we prayed for them.  Coping? [Thumbs up!] I get out every day; I stay home except for a one hour walk each day. Faith? A group of us are reading Steps to Christ. It’s been a blessing for me! Advice? Stay home. Don’t eat too much. Remember that masks hide our smiles, so be sure and ‘say something’!

It Is Written Online Meeting:

It Is Written will conduct a virtual, online evangelistic event starting April 17 that will reach all of North America. Over 600 churches have joined with us in online advertising, and thousands have already registered for the meetings.

The month-long series, entitled Revelation Today: Hope Awakens, will feature Pastor John Bradshaw and present the prophetic message of the Bible while speaking to hearts burdened by anxiety, fear, and uncertainty. The interactive meetings will be viewable on mobile devices and online. Individuals are encouraged to register for the series at hopeawakens.com.

I encourage you to write a thoughtful note to your friends and family inviting them to join!

God has given us counsel on how we should take care of our bodies so that we can be in the best health to enjoy life and be of service to others. If you haven't read what that counsel is, or if you haven't read it recently, take some time to look through it and see how you can improve your wellbeing. The former things will not be remembered,
nor will they come to mind.
