2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season…

Dear Church Family,

Which phrase do you use to describe the unusual times we live in?
  • Current Crisis
  • New Normal
  • Unusual Times

Paul wanted to impress upon his student, Timothy, the power of God’s word and while he admitted there were ‘seasons’, and presumably there are sowing and harvest seasons when it comes to God’s word, the Word of God should be, at all times, distributed.

In this issue, I want to focus on what we are doing to participate in the Preaching of God’s word…

Be well!

Pastor Albert
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea."
Psalms 46:1,2
  • Due to ongoing concerns over the COVID-19 virus, our conference officers have decided to close all churches through the month of April, meaning no church service will be held. Learn more here.
  •
Important News: “Financial Help”:  The Church Board has set aside funds to help those in our church family who have been financially impacted by the pandemic.  If you would like to receive such help, please contact one of the Elders directly (Betsy Adams, Raymond Barnes, Janet Barnhill, Janet Lui, Dahlma Osborne), or call me, Pastor Albert, at the Church Office.  There are details and a process so that this will be confidential and smooth.  We want to be helpful.

Telephone Calls: The Elders, and some volunteers, are calling each local church member and checking on what your needs might be. Please remember that it is a blessing for us to be helpful and useful.  Yes, there has been one round of calls; there will soon be another round of calls, as this ‘season’ is prolonged.

Perhaps you would like to make a call to some of the folks you miss at church.  If you need a members’ number, we will be very happy to provide it to you (unless they have requested privacy).

Answering Questions About Last Day Events: There are a lot of ministries, besides your church, that are offering help.  If you, as a member, like something from a ministry, by all means share it with your friends.  In this newsletter, we do not want to flood you with all of the options that are available.  But we will continue to suggest a few, and pass along to you whatever the Conference Office asks us to.

It Is Written: On the internet at itiswritten.com. They are gearing up for an online evangelism series of meetings beginning April 17.  People who are asking you what Bible Prophecy has to say about the pandemic would likely be interested in these meetings.  They have an archive of messages that build up faith and trust.

Loma Linda University Church: www.lluc.org  While we are putting on our own devotional on Sabbath morning, we know we cannot ‘compete’ with the technology and expertise of larger media ministries.  So, we recommend that you find a source (two or three, why not!) for a good Sabbath message.  These messages from Pastor Roberts have been timely and inspiring.

Rolling Hills Adventist Church on Zoom: Big ministries cannot compete with getting a group of believers together who know and love each other.  As a church family, we get together electronically and talk enjoy studying and talking and praying with each other. We meet by Zoom on…
  • Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m.: This is a mid-week Bible Study and a place to talk of your trials and victories, Faith and Answers, stories and prayers.  Tomorrow night’s scripture focus will be: Luke 3:16
  • Sabbaths, 10 a.m.: Adult Sabbath School Lesson and discussion; 11:00 a.m.: Devotional and Fellowship.  Pastor Christian will present the story of God Rescuing Jonah.
  • Special Classes: I will offer three classes that can be done privately, online, but with a group session once per week.  I will get a special email out tomorrow to tell you the details.

When God has given us light showing the dangers before us, how can we stand clear in His sight if we neglect to put forth every effort in our power to bring it before the people? Can we be content to leave them to meet this momentous issue unwarned?
In this age of technology, we don't want to neglect sharing hopeful messages online, which is so much more important while we practice physical distancing, with all the extroverts dying for lack of in-person socializing. If you spend time on social media—Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, and others—share messages to point people to Christ. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram, and talk to Nathan about how you can help publish inspiring content on our church social media pages and our website.
This COVID-19 pandemic reminds us of the Spanish Flu that devastated the world in 1918. Adventist lifestyle centers at that time helped treat the flu with hydrotherapy and simple remedies, which can benefit us greatly right now. Dr Joyce Choe writes about this in her article series Surviving the Flu: How Adventist Beat the Spanish Flu in 1918. After you read that, read part 2 and 3 for more tips on how to stay well, then share this info with others online!
Online Giving: did you know you can return your tithes and offerings online?  Adventist Giving enables us to return our tithes and offerings online easily.  Go to Adventist Giving
Luke 15:12 When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” 13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.
