Ask a Doctor… about the Covid-19 Virus, “What’s Next?”

Dr. Al Lui, Pathologist, will address these questions and more:
  • Are we safer now than we were two months ago?
  • What is the difference between “molecular” and “serologic” testing?
  • Will testing make us safer? Is it reliable?
  • Who should get tested?

Please submit any question you may have regarding the Covid-19 Virus.  As a medical doctor, he has informed answers.  He is patient and clear; you will come away feeling much better by being informed.

Dr. Lui is a Pathologist who has been the Laboratory Director for several local, full-service hospital and independent laboratories.  If you have ever had your blood tested, that process was almost certainly supervised by a Pathologist, since state and federal laws require a Pathologist to be the Laboratory Director of hospital laboratories.  Dr. Lui understands, from the inside, the virus tests that are now in use.

To submit your question(s), you can email Pastor Albert at: albertfrederico@gmail.com or call the Church Office: 310/541-1819

35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark,
Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. 36 Simon and his companions went to look for him,
37 and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!”
38 Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.”
39 So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

Announcements:

Southern California Conference COVID 19 Relief Fund (Quoted from a Letter to Churches):
The Southern California Conference recognizes the financial strain that work restrictions have placed on many people throughout the conference as a result of COVID-19 shelter-in-place recommendations. In an effort to provide financial assistance to those most in need, the Southern California Conference would like to ask you to partner with us as, together, we grow a financial assistance fund that will help those who need it most at this critical time. This relief fund is intended to assist members who can demonstrate that, as a direct result of COVID-19, they have experienced a loss of income from the following: Job Loss; Job Furlough or Reduced Work Hours.

Contributions to this fund can be made through the Adventist Giving website (see below).

Financial Help:  The Church Board has set aside funds to help those in our church family who have been financially impacted by the pandemic.  If you would like to receive such help, please contact one of the Elders directly (Betsy Adams, Raymond Barnes, Janet Barnhill, Janet Lui, Dahlma Osborne), or call me, Pastor Albert, at the Church Office.  There are details and a process so that this will be confidential and smooth.

Reach Your Pastor: I am forwarding the church phone (310/541-1819) to my home phone (424/206-2949) and though it often has bad reception you can call my cell phone (626/826-8448) or text me.  Email works, too: albertfrederico@gmail.com

55 They ran throughout that whole region
and carried the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was.
56 And wherever he went—into villages, towns or countryside—
they placed the sick in the marketplaces.
They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak,
and all who touched it were healed.
