Revelation 7:1 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: 3 “Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.”
In the book of Revelation there has been a lot of discussion about this group; this number. It’s an interesting number. It is 12 X 12 X 1,000 = 144,000. But let’s set that aside. Remember that Jesus is showing John, and us, some important things about the close of Earth’s history.
In this passage, Jesus also shows that any harm that will come to “land or the sea or the trees” is under the control of angels, who themselves are under orders.
This is part of the evidence that convinces me that God is in Charge. God is in Control. I know there is a lot of ‘reason’ to say that events that are unfolding are capricious, random and… out of control. But I accept, by faith, that “This Is My Father’s World”.

Sabbath school, similar to other group studies, provides us with one of the best opportunities to grow our knowledge and understanding in spiritual things by providing discussion time. We hope you will take full advantage of this opportunity in future Sabbath school classes. Our study this quarter is about witnessing; With the blessing of knowing God comes the desire and expectation to share that privilege and joy with others. This quarter we are going to brainstorm ideas on how we can be more effective both individually and as a church to share the love of God with our world.
