John 7:6 Therefore Jesus told them, “My time is not yet here; for you any time will do.

But like the stars in the vast circuit of their appointed path, God’s purposes know no haste and no delay.  -Desire of Ages, page 32

These passages remind me that God is still in control…. I thought you might benefit from this reminder.

I have not totally outgrown my childhood question, “Are we there yet!?”  But then, I have not gotten far from the assurance, “Soon”, either.  I’m glad I can ask; I’m glad for the answer.

As we say, today, “Hang in there.”  Or, “Keep the Faith!”

Be Blessed,

Pastor Albert
John 12:31 Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. 32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

Outdoor Church will be offered this coming Sabbath.  And we will continue to meet on our teleconferencing system, “Zoom”, as before.  But if you want to come and worship here, you should dress in layers.  The coastal breezes can very quickly turn very cool and strong.  We have some pop-up shade that we will provide, but our supply is limited and you might want to bring your own shade and outdoor chairs.  The usual precautions will be in place: face coverings, social distancing (six feet spacing), and your temperatures will be taken.

So that we can accommodate both our teleconferencing and our in-person participants, our ‘stage’ will be in the foyer and outdoor seating will be just on the outside of the foyer windows.

Yes, there will be limited ‘indoor’ seating in the foyer, but the doors will be wide open for the air to circulate.

If you have a blessing to share with the church, please send us your message to include in our next newsletter!

From South Bay Christian School:

Good Day SBCS School Family,

As we move forward with plans to begin our 2020-2021 school year with the implementation of Distance Learning for the beginning of this school year, we are encouraged that we will be able to offer on campus, person to person learning in the future.  We are making plans to provide a robust and enjoyable Distance learning program, while we are also preparing to open our school for person to person learning simultaneously.  Please be assured that written protocols are in place for all aspects of person to person, on campus learning, We will also be fully equipped with protective gear for all students, teachers and faculty members. Our school has been deep cleaned and spacing will be used following county and governmental guidelines as well. Once those protocols have been approved by our Superintendents, you will receive a
copy.

Please be aware that our 2020-2021school year has been changed from August 17 to August 24. The weeks prior to school beginning has been selected by our Superintendents to provide additional training for
our teachers. This training will serve as support for our Distance Learning program and will provide invaluable information that will serve as an enhancement to our program.

A general schedule for each classroom with our four hour school day plans will be sent out on Monday, August. In addition to the four hour academic school day we are adding extra-curricular activities, which will be held after our four hour class day has ended. These will enrich our online curriculum and will provide an additional hour or two each school day to your child's school activities The plan is to make sure that these extra-curricular activities will not add more time on task to your child's already heavy online load. Parental
supervision will be an option for the extra-curricular program. Parents may at their leisure assist depending on the grade level of each child. These activities are to provide our students with opportunities to share and collaborate with other classmates using project based learning as well as physical activities.

We are making plans based on local and state mandates and are endeavoring to do our very best to provide our students with the best possible education under the circumstances we find ourselves in at present. Your help and support is needed and appreciated.

Please remember the words of encouragement from God's Word, "For I know the plans I have for you (SBCS), declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you (SBCS), plans to give you (SBCS) a hope and a future."  Jeremiah 29:11

Blessings,

Deborah Dahl

This is the perfect time to share more uplifting messages online: if you have any social media accounts, follow and share post, messages, and comments with and from our church accounts on Facebook, Instagram, our youth Instagram, our local conference page. There are many people online who may not come to church, but may see a message that will encourage them to seek Christ.

A healthy body is the foundation for an optimally healthy mind that will also be the foundation for an optimally healthy spirituality. And optimal health is the greatest protection against COVID-19, which, unfortunately, is still out there. What is and how we can have this optimal health is a quest we will always be on in this world of imperfect understanding, so here are some new videos for you to keep learning from!  Online Giving: did you know you can return your tithes and offerings online?  Adventist Giving enables us to return our tithes and offerings online easily.  Go to Adventist Giving

The offering this week is especially dedicated toward our "Local Church Budget"

From Southern California Conference:
“A lifesaving serum”

In 1925, a major diphtheria epidemic was just about to sweep Nome, Alaska. The harsh and excessively cold Alaskan environment hindered the transportation of a lifesaving serum that would stop the spread of the epidemic. It was so cold that the engine of the sole aircraft that could have potentially delivered the medicine did not turn on.

Dogs were employed with sleds to transport the medication. It was an arduous journey with limited visibility, high winds, and temperatures of minus 31-degrees Celsius. Balto, a Siberian husky, relied solely on his senses to keep Gunnar Kaasen on the right track and lead him into Nome. Their delivery averted the epidemic.

God also staved off a major catastrophe by sending His only Son Jesus Christ to deliver a lifesaving sacrifice on the cross. Jesus endured ridicule, mockery, abuse, and violence for the salvation of humanity. Isaiah 53 tells us that Jesus was led as a lamb to a slaughterhouse and did not object. It was His choice to finish the journey and provide a lifesaving option.

The local church is a body of believers that reaches out on a regular basis to people who do not know Jesus Christ. Our tithe and offerings are an intricate part in this outreach. Let us be faithful in returning that which is God’s.

John 16:20 Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. 21 A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. 22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
