April 9, “He Is Risen!”

*|MC:SUBJECT|*
Dear Church Family,

Is “Holy Week” actually ‘holy’?

This phrase is used to refer to the events leading up to the Resurrection.  There is a wide variety of respect given to this annual Holiday.  For some Christians there is nothing special about the various events of the week.  But many view it just like you and I view the Sabbath; it is very special to them.

We should be aware of that as we are greeted by some of our friends and family.  It’s a good time to talk about Christ and the Power of His Resurrection.  I get to that as soon as I can.

Be Blessed.  And my preferred greeting to believers at this time: “He is Risen!”

Pastor Albert
2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen!

Luke 24:2–6

Recommended Viewing:  There are many good choices. We are especially recommending It Is Written at itiswritten.com and the Loma Linda University Church at lluc.org.
Tracts are Available: With most of us at home, we may not have many opportunities to give out tracts, but we should attempt to use every little opportunity that may make a difference! Here is a tract made specially for this time: https://www.buyglow.org/coronavirus-and-immunity/. You can read it here. Consider ordering a pack of these to give when helping someone out, co-workers (if you are one of those essential workers), or leaving in a place that still gets some traffic, or share this link online.

It Is Written Online Meetings:

It Is Written will conduct a virtual, online evangelistic event starting April 17 that will reach all of North America. Over 600 churches have joined with us in online advertising, and thousands have already registered for the meetings.

The month-long series, entitled Revelation Today: Hope Awakens, will feature Pastor John Bradshaw and present the prophetic message of the Bible while speaking to hearts burdened by anxiety, fear, and uncertainty. The interactive meetings will be viewable on mobile devices and online. Individuals are encouraged to register for the series at hopeawakens.com.

This pandemic has forced us to start using long-neglected technology platforms to reach out to people. If you spend time on social media—Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, and others—follow the various Adventist ministries that publish content that you can share. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram, and talk to Nathan about how you can help publish inspiring content on our church social media pages and our website.
In this COVID-19 pandemic, it appears the people at highest risk include those with serious underlying medical conditions, like lung or heart conditions or diabetes. Many of these issues are lifestyle conditions that, by returning to a healthy lifestyle, our bodies can reverse. Listen to this 6 minute video explaining how in the case of heart disease.
